La Rana e L’Ulivo — Slow Stays, Monterubiaglio
Set in the medieval Umbrian hill village of Monterubiaglio, just south of Orvieto, La Rana e L’Ulivo is a characterful holiday home within a restored 18th-century town house.
Created for relaxed stays, the house combines original vaulted ceilings, antique furniture and individual artisan details with contemporary comforts including air conditioning, heating, Wi-Fi and a fully equipped kitchen.
Guests have two characterful bedrooms, a welcoming living room with wood-burning stove, kitchen dining room, shower room and their own private garden with outdoor dining and hot tub.
Parking, Bicycles & Outdoor Gear
Monterubiaglio is a medieval hilltop village built long before the arrival of the motor car. Like local residents, guests park in the village’s public parking areas or on the street wherever parking is permitted. Free parking is available at the Parco Robinson village car park.
La Rana e L’Ulivo is also well placed for exploring the surrounding countryside by bicycle, e-bike or on foot. Guests have access to a separate, lockable storage room for bicycles, walking equipment and other outdoor gear. A wall socket is available for charging e-bikes. Guests must bring their own compatible e-bike charger.
Monterubiaglio sits beautifully between Umbria, Tuscany and Lazio, making the house an excellent base for discovering local food and wine, historic villages, countryside and the towns surrounding Orvieto.
Above all, La Rana e L’Ulivo is somewhere to slow down, settle in and experience a more personal side of Italy.
A little note: La Rana e L’Ulivo is reached by a flight of stairs, and the garden has an un-gated pond and hot tub. We do not provide a cot or high chair - please keep these features in mind when planning your stay.
Your Hosts
Your hosts live year-round in a completely separate home on the upper floors of the palazzo and are available should you need help, recommendations or assistance arranging local experiences.
Our family also includes our friendly Cockapoo dog, Muffin, and cats Tigger and Sooty, whom you may occasionally see or hear around the adjoining family garden.

Seasonal comfort
Air conditioning is provided from 15 May to 30 September.
Central heating is provided from 1 October to 15 May.
If you would like to enjoy the fire/hot tub a little longer, additional logs can be purchased from your hosts.

- Children and infants are welcome and charged at adult rates.
